Definite's Extractor

My findings on Life, Linux, Open Source, and so on.

[RHEL] (maybe fedora) USB user mount

By default USB user mount should work correctly.
But in case you reinstall the system, and the uid is different than it was,
then you should check the gconf setting.

Please install gconf-editor before all this begins.

  1. Run gconf-editor
  2. Goto /system/storage/default_options/vfat
  3. Check mount_options, see whether the uid is correct
  4. Goto /system/storage/volumes/_org_freedesktop_Hal_devices_volume_uuid_3430_03DA
  5. Check mount_options, see whether the uid is correct

Reinsert the USB drive and see if it work.
No need to restart haldaemon.
